Moto Chic

Fall is around the corner but that doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to all of your summer favorites. For me, the end of summer and beginning of fall is the perfect blend of seasons because I get to mix summer clothes with some fun fall layers (leather/denim jackets, vests, sweaters etc).  One playful and very convenient piece to consider keeping in your closet this fall is the "shirt dress". I like to keep mine handy because they're fun, easy to style and always look cool. T here’s nothing better than functional clothes and  this little gem is definitely the perfect transition piece for the fall, so don't store yours away just yet!   Shirt dresses are simple and versatile, making them the perfect foundation piece to style over in order to create a fabulous day-time outfit. One of my favorite combinations is the one you see here,  I like to call this look  "Moto Chic" because it's polished, effortless and bold. To achieve the look, I styled my chambray shirt dress with a pair of stylish black heels and a leather jacket to toughen up the look.  The shoes and jacket have similar textures and zipper details which was a plus because those details really   brought the whole outfit together. Finally, I accessorized with an animal print bag that added a splash of color to my fall uniform. Ta-dah! I hope this is helpful and maybe you'll reconsider keeping your shirt dress around a little longer to give it some extra milage.

NY survival kit

If you're use to wearing summer gear during the winter, visiting New York in February can definitely be painful. Like many LA girls i'm use to wearing warm weather clothes like shorts, skirts and tees through out most of the year, so during my stay in NY I was freezing! I tried my best to stay as warm as possible by layering as much as I could but I still felt cold. You probably can't tell but under this skirt I was wearing four pairs of leggings, two pairs of knee high socks, knee high boots and under this chunky striped sweater I was wearing three long sleeve cotton shirts. I know it sounds extreme but have I mentioned it was 3º?   This outfit was a little different than what I would normally wear during the winter in LA but I managed to stay comfortable and I think I was as warm as I could possibly be considering how cold it was. Having to come up with an outfit that was cute and practical in that kind of freezing weather was definitely challenging but the experience taught me a thing or two about layering and also how much i love warm weather. = D

Tomboy.

Something I really love to do on my days off is going out with my family and spending the day together.  One activity we all enjoy doing is shopping haha... and trying new food.  Last week my mom, brother and I went and and checked out some of our favorite stores and although I don't usually shop at banana republic I tagged along to play dress up with my mom.  While taking a lap around the store I came across this graphic tee =) it's no secret that I'm a t-shirt lover so finding a tee that I can relate to sealed the deal for me, I was instantly sold.  Plus my mom said it looked good on me lol.  It's the only purchase I made in the store but it was a good one.
