Forever21

locations, locations, locations

Recently someone asked me how I find the shoot locations for all my blog/Instagram photos. The truth is I repeat a lot of the same locations, and from time to time I'm even kicked out of "restricted areas" that are not photography friendly. What can I say, I live on the wild side haha! No, but seriously even though it doesn't seem like a tough task, finding new places to shoot can be tricky sometimes because of parking, photography permits, etc. To be frank, I love doing this and even on the days when I'm not shooting; I'm constantly looking out for dope spaces where I can possibly shoot in the future. All of the photos on my IG and blog I take in random streets, alleys, storefronts, shopping malls, or the occasional LA landmark.   One great thing I've learned after doing this for some time is that you can take awesome photos in locations that aren't necessarily considered "Instagram-worthy" it's just a matter of finding the right angle to each place. At first glance, a lot of streets and walls in LA look ugly or dirty, but sometimes those things add personality to a picture. I think after a while of taking photos this became natural to me. I believe it's all just a matter of perspective and developing an eye to see the beauty in places most people wouldn't. I am not a photographer, but I don't think you have to be one to see the beauty and appreciate the things around you. Anywho, I hope this post is helpful to anyone interested in starting a blog, Tumblr or any creative platform. Thank you, Stephanie, for emailing me your question! I invite anyone who has questions to message me, and I will write a post with my answer. =)

THE IDEAL BLAZER

Blazers are one of the most important jackets in my wardrobe, but shopping for the perfect one can be tricky. When shopping for the ideal blazer I look for four specific things; cut, fit, color and closure. Those details make all the difference! When it comes to cut and fit I typically prefer my blazers hip length and a little more on the boxy side, I'll take a relaxed jacket over a restricted one any day! One crucial detail that I'm always looking out for is pockets. I don't always carry a large purse, so pockets are great to hold my keys and cell phone.   Now, everyone should have a classic black blazer, but options are always good. Some great color options are off-white, red, pink, nude and blue. A pop of color can completely transform a simple outfit combination into a stylish and effortless look.   Another significant detail is the closure (buttons). Buttons make a significant difference because they can make clothing appear cheap or expensive. For me, buttons look better when they match the color of the jacket. The good thing about buttons is that if you dislike them, you can easily change them for ones you like. I typically go for blazers with no more than two buttons because I like to wear my blazers unbuttoned. I feel that blazers look less dressy when worn open.   I hope these tips help a little the next time you guys are out shopping for your perfect blazer. ;)

IT'S A WRAP

I love love love wearing dresses. As a child, my mother wore long flowy dresses almost every day. Perhaps that memory stuck with me because I wear one any chance I get (unfortunately it is not as often as I would like). For me, a dress is the ultimate feminine garment, so when I came across this little wrap dress from Forever 21, I had to have it! Wrap dresses are flirty, flattering and truly feminine. From the low coquettish neckline to the short playful hemline, this ensemble is easily one of my summer favorites.
